Agreeing to these terms

By creating an account or using Kamano you agree to these terms, the community guidelines and the privacy notice. If you do not agree, do not use it.

Who can use it

• You are 18 or older. We may ask you to confirm it, and we close accounts we believe belong to someone younger.
• You are using your own account, and the things you tell us about yourself are true, including that your photos show you.
• You are not barred from using it by law, and you are not in a place where we are legally unable to offer it.
• You are not here because you were removed before. A ban stands unless we lift it.

Drafting note: Confirm the excluded markets with counsel: sanctioned jurisdictions are blocked, Australia stays off until cleared, and elsewhere we show a safety notice rather than block (docs/decisions.md, docs/launch-gates.md).

Your account

You sign in with an email code, a passkey or another method we offer. Keep your device and email secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account unless someone got in through a fault on our side. Tell us through the contact form if you think someone else has your account.

What you share

What you post stays yours. You give us permission to store it, process it and show it to the people you chose, and only for running Kamano. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from the copies and records described in the privacy notice.

Only post what you have the right to post. If other people are in a photo, you confirm they agree. Anyone pictured can ask for it to be removed through the report flow.

How we expect you to behave

The community guidelines are part of these terms. In short: be honest about who you are, ask before you assume, take no for an answer, and keep every photo and message within the guidelines. Do not scrape, copy or resell what you see, try to break the service, or use it to find people for any purpose other than meeting them.

Connections and shared records

A named connection is not active until both people accept it. Agreements and shared logs belong to everyone in them. If one of you deletes their account, the others keep a copy with that person shown as a former connection.

You can use the app to record what you and the people you are with agreed. We are not a law firm, an agreement here is not legal advice, and we do not promise any record would be accepted by a court.

Looking and billing

• Keeping your people is free. Looking is how you meet new people and be found by them. Looking at any city is free.
• Looking is one monthly subscription and costs $10 a month, the same for everyone. We show the price, the renewal and how to cancel beside the button that starts the subscription.
• It renews every month until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in Settings, in no more steps than it took to sign up, and you keep Looking until the end of the period you paid for.
• Switching Looking off takes you out of the group of people who are looking at once. If you have an active subscription we offer to pause it at the end of the period, so you are not charged in silence.
• Payments are handled by our payment provider. We never see your card number.
• A billing dispute never suspends your account.
• We may ask you to confirm it is you with a short selfie check before you join Looking. We keep a pass or fail, not the selfie.
• Paying never buys a better place, more reach, a boost or standing. Standing is earned in this community and cannot be bought.

Drafting note: Write the refund policy (docs/launch-gates.md, section C) and get the payment provider's written acceptance of this product, with a fallback provider named (docs/launch-gates.md, section A), before this goes live.

When we step in

We can warn you, remove content, suspend you or close your account when something breaks the guidelines or the law. We tell you which rule and why, and you can ask us once to look again. For the most serious harm, including anything involving children, we may act first, report to the authorities and tell you afterwards where the law lets us.

The service itself

We work to keep Kamano running and accurate, but we provide it as it is. It may be unavailable, change or lose features. We are not responsible for what other members say or do, so take the care described on the safety page when you meet someone.

Drafting note: Counsel to supply: warranty disclaimer, limitation of liability, indemnity, governing law and venue, dispute resolution, and any consumer rights clauses by region.

Leaving

You can delete your account at any time in the app. Your account disappears for others at once and your data is erased after 30 days, as the privacy notice describes. Terms that by their nature continue, such as the record of a moderation decision, continue.

Changes

If we change these terms we update the date at the top and tell you in the app before a change that matters to you takes effect. If you keep using Kamano afterwards, you accept the change. If you do not accept it, you can delete your account.
